Katelyn Rediger is a rising senior at Eastern University in St. Davids, Pennsylvania. She majors in chemistry and has minors in Spanish and Christian Thought.
In the summer of 2017, Katelyn had the privilege of working in Dr. Park’s lab at her home institution on green synthesis of gold nanoparticles using aqueous extracts of onion and apple. This summer she is a part of Dr. Rosenzweig’s lab where she is studying the interactions that take place between model liposomes and quantum dots using single molecule microscopy.
After receiving her bachelor’s degree, Katelyn hopes to spend a year or so travelling before attending grad school to receive a PhD in green chemistry.
Outside the lab Katelyn spends her time hiking, biking, and performing in local theatre productions.
